5. What’s Nearby
Shopping and dining: Boynton Beach Mall, Publix, Target, and a wide range of restaurants and shops are all within a short drive along Congress Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard. The Delray Marketplace and Delray Beach’s Atlantic Avenue are easily accessible to the south.
The Atlantic Ocean is less than ten miles to the east. Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and Lake Worth Beach are all within a short drive.
Golf: Palm Beach County offers more than 150 public and private golf courses nearby.
Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) is approximately 9 miles away. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is approximately 33 miles south.
6. Takeaway
In a county full of 55+ communities, Palm Shores tends to fly under the radar. It does not have the name recognition of some of the larger, but that is precisely what makes it worth a closer look.
The pricing tells another part of the story. For what you get, the numbers are hard to argue with. A detached single-family home, with a pool, fitness center, pickleball, tennis, and a full social calendar, all for under $450,000 in Palm Beach County. That combination is increasingly difficult to find.
The location adds to the appeal. Situated between I-95 and the Turnpike, Palm Shores puts you roughly ten minutes from the beach, minutes from major shopping and dining, and within easy reach of both Palm Beach International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Delray Beach, with its Atlantic Avenue restaurants and boutiques, is just a short drive south. West Palm Beach is equally accessible to the north.
And because it was built in the early 1990s, the community has a maturity to it that newer developments simply cannot replicate. The trees are grown in, the landscaping is lush, and the sense of community is real. Residents are established, engaged, and genuinely invested in the neighborhood.
