How 55+ Communities Work?

Most 55+ communities usually require that at least one resident in the household be 55 or older, and all other residents must be 18+.
However, every community has its own rules, and trust me — they can vary a lot. Some are strict; others are more flexible. Always check the HOA documents before making a decision to buy.

Important Restrictions to Know:
Many 55+ communities (but not all of them!) do NOT allow:
– Pets if not emotional/support pets (or pet restrictions, weight, size etc)
– Trucks
– Motorcycles
– Commercial vehicles
– Renting during the first 1–2 years
These rules can be deal-breakers for some buyers, so it’s crucial to know them upfront. You need to check the Rules & Regulations of the community.

The Pros: Why People Love 55+ Living
